Infrastructure which includes Information and Communication technologies can be thought of as all the parts within the public health system that work to help health professionals carry out health services. Adequate infrastructure to facilitate health service delivery is thus critical to the achievement of the millennium development goals. In many countries in Africa, the lack of laboratory facilities, lack of equipment, and lack of information and communication systems hampers progress. The focus on strengthening infrastructure and ICT in Sub-Saharan Africa is a key objective of HHA, and this page provides a wide range of information on infrastructure and ICT(country snapshots, assistance provided, news) as well as an opportunity to interact on all related aspects (Blog and Community Of Practice).
